Aeonium arboreum var atropurpureum 'Schwarzkopf'.....Black Tree Aeonium

Another common name for this sub-tropical succulent is ‘Black Rose’.

It provides all round year interest here in the garden at Cortijo Azahar.

This cultivar is a very dark selection of Aeonium arboreum with tall arching stems and large heads of deep purple black foliage.
It can grow to 1m tall and wide, occasionally producing crested stems. The bright yellow flowers set against the almost black foliage are very showy.

Being drought tolerant, It grows well in direct sun but prefers medium levels of water.
